About us

Who we are
The Christ Our Light parish Council of the Society of Saint Vincent dePaul is a volunteer Catholic charity operating within Guernsey County Ohio. We are associated with the national Council USA and copy their mission statement, which is:
“A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need.”

What we do
This local Conference of Saint Vincent de Paul operates as a non-profit, all-volunteer charitable organization providing assistance to individuals and families in Guernsey County, Ohio. We help those in need by first connecting them with public services and resources. A partial list of the resources we use is available HERE. If public resources cannot fill their need, and if the need falls within our limited budget, we try to help.

How do we do it
Support for our local conference comes entirely from donations, mostly from generous individuals and the parish. Our members donate their time and skills to aid those who come to us for assistance. Our members pay our small overhead costs out of their own pockets. As a result, 100% of all outside donations and grants to our conference go to aid clients in need.

If you feel called to participate in this work, please go to the Contact Us page and consider giving of your time, talent, or other personal resources. Thank you.
